The Wide Brim Fedora

I love hats, especially wide brim fedoras. It adds a chic, cool vibe to almost any outfit. You don't have to get all decked out to wear one either, just keep it basic. I am wearing a simple pair of ripped skinny jeans, a plaid shirt, combat block heeled boots, and a pea coat. Fedoras can be purchased almost anywhere. Mine is from H&M, but you can find them at nearly any department store in the accessory section.

Asos has a great selection of wide brim hats. (click here to shop)

Topshop also has a great variety of hats. (click here to shop)

Lace and Fringe

I finished my Christmas shopping earlier this week so I decided to shop for myself. I walked inside of Joyce Leslie with the intentions of purchasing dress down clothes (sweat pants, leggings, tank tops, etc.,) and walked out with this 2 piece ensemble instead. I have no plans for New Years, but this would be the perfect outfit to wear if I did.

Driver roll up the partition please....

Took 45 minutes to get all dressed up...

And we aint even gonna make it to this club....

One Dress Three Ways

I purchased this white dress about two years ago from H&M. I love it because it is a clean look, and can be worn in several ways. In the first slot, I kept it simple with a necklace from H&M and thigh high boots from Bakers. The second photo, I threw on a faux fur vest from Forever 21, and the third photo I wore a faux fur scarf from H&M.

The City Rack vs SheekShat

A few weeks ago I was online shopping and saw this dress on an online boutique called SheekShat. I really loved it but thought it was ridiculous that they would charge $110 for a dress that is 95% polyester. I study garments for a living so I am pretty knowledgeable about costs, qualities, and  the labor that goes into designing processes. Polyester is one of the most inexpensive fabrics in the textile industry, and is commonly found in everyone's closet.

A few days later, I visited another online boutique based out of United Kingdom called The City Rack and found the same dress for $44! This price was so much more reasonable and was satisfied with the overall quality when it came in the mail.

The dress came with a removable necklace. If you wanted to glam it up or take it down a notch, you had the option to do so. I also thought this was a genius idea for cleaning purposes.

I wore it out for my girlfriend's birthday last night too. Her dress is super cute. She got from Lord & Taylors on the clearance rack for $30.

My sister wore a simple black dress from Asos.

Red Light Special........

Red is the most emotionally intense color. It symbolizes willpower, rage, anger, leadership, passion, and of course love. This is all according to the color wheel of psychology. If I had to describe myself this day using one of these emotions, I would say I was feeling passionate, but I do feel this way everyday regardless of what color I wear. Anyway, my red textured crop sweater is from H&M, pencil skirt is from American Apparel, and my black patent leather pumps are from Nine West.

Note* For those of you who are from Jersey, the new H&M that just opened up inside the Bergen Mall is nothing spectacular. Unless you have simple style, there was nothing that caught my eye. I think it might be good for men and children. The best H&M locations in the tristate area are 5th Ave and West34th in NYC. The one in Garden State Plaza Mall in Jersey is pretty good too.

Necklace: H&M

And here is my sister wearing yet another adorable A-line military coat from Bebe. My  vintage faux fur coat was gifted from my grandmother.

Blush and Chandeliers......

My twin sister, Nicole and I turned 30 this week. We are identical but have many differences as you can clearly see. Nicole and I did not plan on color coordinating at all. It just so happened we both choose the color blush which has been a trending hue for this fall and winter.

My dress has blush colored roses with chandelier patterns. Like all of my other dresses, I purchased this from Asos. Nicole's dress is actually a military inspired coat that can be worn as a dress. It's so chic and feminine. Love it!!

My shoes are from Steve Madden and Nicole's are from Asos. Happy Birthday sis! No matter how mean you are to me, I truly appreciate your brutal honesty..I love you!!!!

Black and White

I have an obsession with black and white. You can never go wrong with these two complimentary colors. They are a classic color combo, and the overall look of black and white is chic and modern.
My daughter Lily is wearing a Donna Karen dress with simple black leggings and Mary Jane shoes from the Gap. I am wearing a graphic sweater from H&M and a skirt from Urban Outfitters.

She is also my obsession. I love her.

My child is full of LIFE!

My aunt told her to do the cat walk and so she did.

This black and white bodycon dress is from Asos. It is really figure flattering when the prints are organized in a design.

Both the shirt and skirt are from Century 21. My booties are from Steve Madden.
